Shopping with a capsule wardrobe in mind helps you avoid spontaneously buying pieces that you never end up wearing and helps ensure that the items hanging in your closet are a core part of your clothing rotation. The point of a ‘Capsule Wardrobe’ is to narrow your focus. It makes getting dressed that much easier — and quicker —because the items of clothing you own have a purpose and countless ways you can style them.

When creating a capsule wardrobe, I do think it’s important to invest (if possible) in quality capsule pieces (linked some options below) and to incorporate and shop more trendier pieces at less expensive, on trend, places like Zara, H&M, etc.

Even if you’re not in the market to buy any new pieces at all, I can almost guarantee you have some of these items below in your closet. Use this starter pack as your guide to dig through your closet and actually recognize what you own and what you no longer need — then go from there!
